Best Pool Hall in Staten Island

There are not that many pool halls here in Staten Island. This is a case where I have in fact been to them all. This place has changed hands a couple times in recent years but the current ownership has it right.

They have quite a few fun video games and feature over 20 varieties of beer. I recommend the Golden Draak personally. Thurs is ladies night and all females shoot free! A great spacious billiard room that features 10 Brunswick tables among other things are what set Joe Broadway’s a head above the rest.

Best Locksmith in Staten Island

Do not let the size of their shop fool you. This landmark locksmith located right off of amboy and richmond has been in business for years right underneath the train. They are knowledgable family owned and full service locksmiths.

Best Eye Care in Staten Island

I can’t say I have been to every single eyeglass outlet on the island. Truth is I have only been to one and the service there was so good that I never had a reason to look at any alternatives. I cannot say enough about how good they treat me here. I truly feel value as a customer which is something that is sorely lacking in the franchises.

The owner Joe is a throwback to when service was truly king. He provides cleanings and adjustments for his customers and will always do his best to accommodate your needs. They also boast a great selection of designer and non designer frames and they match or beat any price from their competitors. Eye exams are available by appointment on premise as well

Best Sports Bar in Staten Island

My favorite place to catch some bar food and watch the big game. They have a ton of fun machines and also feature live bands. The crowds are friendlier and more down to earth in my opinion than your typical mix of people in Staten Island.

Best Sushi in Staten Island

You always want to be careful if your are going to eat sushi. This is no different in Staten Island. Most of the spots here are off shoots of bigger places either in Manhattan or Brooklyn and hope to get by to a certain extent on name alone. Sapporo also kinda falls into that class although it is a little less well known when compared the bigger name sushi restaurants here in Staten Island.

The food here is quality and the place is very clean. The prices are what you can expect for sushi and the portions are standard. Everyone I know who really likes sushi swears by this place. I am not much of a connoisseur but this place was best for me.

Best Italian Restaurant in Staten Island

Staten Island has a reputation for having a lot of Italians and a lot of Italian food. There are definitely more than enough places to grab some pasta on in Staten Island. I have eaten in 18 places that serve Italian thorough fare and to be fair a lot of them were very good, but the experience and most importantly the food here notched just a little over all the rest.

This place is truthfully a hidden gem. My wife’s sister had her baby shower here and that was the only way I had even found it. If you doubt my review please head on over and eat there for yourself. My personal favorite is the penne ala vodka. The prices here are also extremely reasonable but don’t get it confused they do it RIGHT over there.

Best Burger in Staten Island

I guess I am a simple guy since most of the time when I go out if its at all appropriate I will order a cheeseburger. Usually with fries. I have found a place that has not been there for that long but serves up one incredibly tasty burger!

This franchise which now has 10 locations in NY is quickly increasing in popularity. The only complaint I have is that the delivery is very slow but I guess it is because this place is doing a ton of business right now. I am happy to say that so far the food has not suffered a bit. I wish I lived closer I would get over there more often. I would also probably gain 30lbs.

Best Bakery in Staten Island

I for one have a sweet tooth and as such I have been to many of the bakeries here on SI and for me right now one stands head and shoulders above the rest. Their food their ingredients their service and even the decor are top notch.

This place is widely known as the best bakery in staten island and with good reason. Their selection is very diverse and they have basicsally all of the classics you will remember from the holidays when you were a kid. This place is also a great place for eye candy during the summer whether your a guy or a girl. The outdoor eating area is right in Hylan blvd and is always buzzing with energy.

Best Bagels in Staten Island

I don’t know about you but breakfast is my FAVORITE meal of the day. I know there is no way I have eaten at every bagel store but I have definitely tried the bagels at; at least 15 different spots in SI. On the north shore and the south I found the best tasting and freshest bagels around to be here:

I once left a $100 bill on the counter here. I walked out without getting my change I came back 7 days later and they had my money behind the counter. Quality food and quality people make this my best choice for bagels on SI
